The Dangers of Fruit Eating: Why the Fruit Diet Is a Ticking Time Bomb? How to Take a Step Toward Health Through Diet
Mar 12, 2022
Frugivorism is a diet that is completely deficient for the body.
SLIM: Let's stay on the subject of food and talk about diets that are quite trendy: ketogenic, paleo and frugivorous!
What can you tell us about this?
JEREMY: Well, we're going to start by hitting out at the fruit-eater because I was one myself...
Frugivorism, I say it again and it is also the title of one of my videos :
It's a ticking time bomb!
There are people who will engage in fruitarianism and who will destroy themselves in a few months and for others, it can take several years!
People who take several years to grow usually live in warm countries where there is no need to heat too much in winter, do sports, have good genetics,
Often, they don't work or don't have a stressful office job, they live very "chill", very relaxed, they will eat organic, raw products that are not processed, they will not smoke,
In short, these are people who have a healthy lifestyle and they will last longer!
While there are other people, like the example of a Parisian who has to deal with two hours of traffic jams every day, who has a stressful office job, who doesn't do any sport and who eats a Sodebo sandwich every lunchtime,
For him, a frugivorous diet can lead him to his coffin in a few months...
Depending on your genetics, it can go very quickly!
Frugivorism is very simple: it lacks the essential amino acids and fatty acids , which are therefore essential!
There are at least fifteen nutrients you can't find in fruit, which is why this diet is a health disaster!
This is a diet that I do not recommend to ANYONE!
Afterwards, if you want to try fruitarianism for a day or a week, why not…
As part of a treatment , it is possible...
But in the long term, it seems impossible to me!
What are the benefits of trendy diets: paleo, carnivore, ketogenic, etc.
Then, anything that is more trendy, anything that is paleo, carnivore, ketogenic, that's a very good question, since I myself haven't really decided yet...
For me, these are already foods where we are going to take a step towards our health!
In paleo, you will remove grains and legumes , which are disasters!
For me, cereals are the drug of the 21st century in terms of nutrition...
Pasta and bread kill you slowly, it doesn't kill you in one or two years, it kills you in thirty or forty years, and once you realize it, it's too late!
Paleo, carnivore, ketogenic , you often remove grains and legumes, so you're already taking a big step towards your health...
If you do paleo, carnivore, ketogenic, animal-oriented, then you bring back the mass of micronutrients so you will really bring a lot of benefits to your body!
Then, depending on what people do because obviously, some of them do stupid things...
For example, when you switch to a ketogenic diet after being used to eating pasta all your life, and suddenly you go to zero grams of carbohydrates,
Obviously, for the body, the transition is complicated!
I think you have to take it slowly , in small steps, and in any case, my opinion on these new diets is quite positive, although in my opinion, you still have to be careful with the carnivore diet because, for my part, I don't really believe in it...
Eating nothing but meat all day, I still find it a little hard to believe!
How to transition to a diet better suited to your needs?
What I advise is always to try in small steps and always, as you pointed out, to look at your body, to be attentive to your feelings:
“How do I feel?”
And here, vigilance is required because you have to take into account the three time cursors:
- Short term
- Medium term
- Long term
If you only watch one of the three, it's not going to work!
For example, with fruitarianism, you can feel good in the short term because if you have eaten nothing but crap your whole life and for two days you only eat bananas,
Obviously you will feel better and you will perhaps say to yourself:
“Ah, I found the perfect diet!”
However, two weeks later, you will have lost five kilos of muscle ...!
So, we must be vigilant, adopt a short-term, medium-term and long-term vision in order to experiment and observe across a broad spectrum!
But I, in light of what I discovered today, still think that there are certain principles that emerge ...
A diet rich in micronutrients is a diet that is not too rich in carbohydrates with all the cereals and legumes!
Once you put them aside, it's difficult to get a good intake of carbohydrates because in fruits, there are not too many carbohydrates in them, there are some vegetables, there is honey, things like that, there are potatoes and sweet potatoes but you're not going to eat them every day either...
So there we have some little principles that emerge like that!
Thank you for your attention my move!
